Lisa Kaufman, MSRS, CMC, CTRS, EOLD
Lisa is a Fellow/Certified Professional Aging Life Care™ Manager, and has worked specifically with the specialized allied health needs of the older adult since 1993. She has owned and operated SeniorCare Options since 2001, and she is an active member of the Aging Life Care Association™, and is one of only a handful of certified care managers in Georgia. In addition to her degrees and national certifications in her fields, Lisa’s credentials include a Certificate of Gerontology from Kennesaw State University, and she is a Certified Trainer and Consultant of Teepa Snow’s “Positive Approach to Care.” She is a Past-President of the ALCA™ South Eastern Chapter, a member of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, and is the only Fellow / Certified ALCP™ in Georgia.
Lisa is a second generation professional Aging Life Care™ Manager, as her mother also had a successful practice in the Chicago area. Additionally, she understands the role of the caregiver firsthand, having been caregiver to her elderly grandmother during the end stages of her life. With her combination of practical and clinical experience, Lisa is uniquely qualified to assist families in caring for their aging loved ones.
Lisa recently became trained as an End of Life Doula to guide families and their loved ones through the final chapter for a peaceful passing.
In addition to championing for the elderly, Lisa enjoys reading, cooking, and creating visual art. She lives with her two spirited cats and they keep her very entertained.
Clare Salkin, RN, CMC
Clare (with SCO since 2009) is a registered nurse and certified care manager. After college and graduate school (BAs in Biology and Psychology, and MA in Biology), she held positions in a variety of research and scientific settings. Wanting to make more of a direct impact to patients themselves, she then went back to nursing school and has since held positions in assisted living, women’s health and home health with a special interest in patient education, medical advocacy and individualized care.
Clare has been an asset to SeniorCare Options since 2009. Her skills as an RN allow SCO to offer an interdisciplinary focus for our clients.

Dawn Giles, RN
Dawn (with SCO since September 2016) is a Registered Nurse with behavioral health and emergency/trauma background. She has done extensive work with psychiatric emergencies and geriatric mental health. She’s just relocated back to Georgia to be closer to family. Dawn lived in Atlanta previously for 27 years before relocating to the Kaiser Permanente network in California as an internal consultant.
Susan Keenan, LPC, NCC, CMC
Susan (with SCO since 2009) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and she is Nationally Certified. She specializes in family and individual counseling, and has vast experience in case management. She has a detailed and gentle approach with the aging population, and with their families. She puts people at ease, and asks just the right questions to gain more insight, and to find the best solutions for the person and situation.
Abbie Vogt, MS, CMC
Abbie (joined SCO in February 2016) is an Advanced Professional Member and Care Manager Certified through of the Aging Life Care Association™. She holds a masters degree in ‘Long-Term Care, Senior Housing and Aging Services’, a certificate in Mediation and is a Certified Dementia Coach through Dignity First®. Abbie began her career working as a caregiver for the elderly while studying Gerontology in college. Since then, her 10+ years of professional experience in the field of aging services has placed her in numerous settings, including hospice, assisted living, dementia care and home care administration. Her passion is to ensure high quality care coordination for her clients and their families by encouraging autonomy and promoting dignity while advocating for her clients’ individual needs.
Abbie volunteers as the secretary for the regional chapter of the Aging Life Care Association™ and is board president for the Athens Senior Resource Network. She also volunteers for Court Appointed Special Advocates in Athens-Clarke County and leads local support groups for family caregivers. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and other outdoor hobbies.
Tricia Spooner, RN, BSN, CCM
Tricia ( joined SCO in July 2018) is a Registered Nurse who worked at the bedside for years before transitioning into hospital Case Management. She has an extensive background in Utilization Review, Care Coordination and Discharge Planning in the acute hospital setting. She worked with and lead a team of nurses and social workers to provide services focusing on transitioning patients to post acute care in every setting, including long term acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, hospice and home care. She focused on providing individualized discharge planning to meet the patient and family needs. While serving numerous patients over the years, she gained first hand experience helping manage the care of her parents in their senior years. Both her father and stepfather had prolonged challenges as they progressed through the stages of Alzheimer’s, and her mother had a progressive debilitating disease, giving her an increased sensitivity to the clients she serves today. Tricia states that she feels fortunate to be able to work with the team at SeniorCare Options to provide care management in the community, recognizing that individuals have many ongoing care needs, that when addressed properly, help the individual remain happy and healthy, and maximize quality of life.
Tricia has lived most of her life in Georgia, growing up in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing at Georgia State University, and has worked all of her professional career in the metro Atlanta area, mostly in Dekalb and Gwinnett. Tricia is a Certified Case Manager(CCM) with the Commission for Case Management Certification, and is pleased to be a new member of the Aging Life Care Association
Tricia enjoys time with friends and family. She loves to stay active, and enjoys movies, music, dining, travel and cruising. Some of her happiest moments this year have been spent with her sweet new grandson in Oklahoma. She also enjoys time at home and has a crazy pair of sibling kitties that keep her entertained.
Heather Scalo, RN, BSN
Heather ( joined SCO in May 2017) is a Registered Nurse with a background in Hospice and Long Term Care. She has worked in acute, post-acute and home care settings and has a strong background in case management and tailoring a plan to an individual and their family’s needs. Heather is a native of Atlanta, received her Bachelors in Anthropology from the University of Georgia, and her Nursing degree from Emory University.
Nicole Rubin, LPC
Nicole ( joined SCO in August 2017) holds a bachelors in Psychology from University of Central Florida, a Masters in Applied Gerontology, and a Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University. Nicole specializes in family and individual counseling, and enjoys the joys and challenges of aging families in transition.
In her spare time, Nicole is an adventurous foodie and avid reader. She loves taking long walks in the sunshine with her two dogs, and traveling to new places.
