Death is unfortunately a taboo subject for many, many people, and as an End of Life Doula (EOLD,) Lisa strives to serve people in a way that achieves deeper meaning and offers greater comfort.

Doulas provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support at an intensely personal and tender time. They assist people in finding meaning, creating a legacy project, and planning for how the last days will unfold. Doulas also guide and support loved ones through the last days of life and ease the suffering of grief in its early stages. End of Life Doulas offer a non-medical support service for the individual and their family, and it can be in addition to Hospice as a medical provider. The 11th Hour strives to allow “your Last Moments to be as Dignified as You Are.”

Here Lisa speaks about the history and role of an End of Life Doula. (approx. 15 minutes)
